About the Role

Broccoli AI is seeking its first dedicated finance hire to serve as a strategic finance leader and build the finance function from the ground up. This role involves partnering with the executive team, owning the operating plan, financial model, and key metrics, and supporting fundraising efforts. The position is not solely focused on reporting but on shaping company strategy and investment decisions.

Responsibilities

• Own the quarterly and annual operating plan end to end.
• Build the financial model and unit-economics framework.
• Set targets and budgets with functional leaders.
• Drive resource allocation and investment decisions.
• Define financial and operational KPIs.
• Build dashboards and monitor metrics and cash flow.
• Surface levers to accelerate growth and efficiency.
• Run business reviews and deliver reporting and insight for leadership.
• Own board materials and the model, metrics, and data room for fundraising.
• Own capital strategy and partner on future fundraising processes.
• Build a scalable finance function, including deciding on and hiring additional accounting or finance personnel.
• Build finance operations to run on automation and clean data, leveraging AI.
• Own financial integrity and revenue recognition in the interim.

Requirements

• 8+ years of finance experience.
• 6+ years in strategic finance, corporate finance, or FP&A at high-growth technology companies, ideally scaled through Series B to Series D and beyond.
• 2+ years in investment banking, private equity, or venture capital at a top-tier firm.
• Experience running the finance side of a growth-stage raise, including building the model and data room and managing diligence.
• Deep SaaS and ARR fluency, including building an ARR bridge, decomposing NRR, modeling cohort retention, and speaking unit economics.
• Expert financial modeling in Excel, including building from scratch, stress-testing assumptions, and translating outputs into clear business narratives.
• Sharp analytical instincts and clear communication skills.
• Comfort with owning financial integrity and revenue recognition.
• Ability to design process where none exists and hold a high bar without direct management.
