About the Role
Provides nursing care under direct supervision, integrating education, technical competence, and patient interaction skills to ensure optimal patient care. Supports departmental functionality through supply distribution and equipment maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Provides nursing care under the direct supervision of a registered nurse (RN) or physician.
- Integrates education, technical competence and patient interaction skills to gain confidence and cooperation from the patient, their family/support group, and other healthcare providers.
- Exercises sound judgment and developed clinical skills to implement the patient's plan of care based on the diagnosis in a timely manner.
- Supports the functionality of the department by distributing supplies and performing equipment maintenance, testing, and setup as needed.
- Adheres to all local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies and procedures to ensure privacy and safety to help deliver optimal patient care.
- Employees may handle hazardous drugs in the course of their work, including patient care, which requires them to manage, store, prepare, receive, unpack, transport, dispose of, or administer drugs identified as hazardous or potentially hazardous by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and in accordance with the USP 800 guidelines.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of Vocational Nursing (may be evidenced by LVN/LPN license) provided prior to start date
- LVN-Licensed Vocational Nurse for California-based jobs provided prior to start date
- LPN-Licensed Practical Nurse for Oregon-based jobs provided prior to start date
- BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
- IV Certification
- CDL-Valid Drivers License (for Home Health & Hospice)
- INS-Auto Insurance (for Home Health & Hospice)
