About the Role
WEIS is looking for associates who value respect, teamwork, and growth within their communities.
Responsibilities
- Keep the produce department well-stocked and appealing.
- Greet customers, answer questions, handle special requests, and resolve concerns.
- Unpack, clean, trim, and stock merchandise.
- Ensure merchandise is saleable, properly priced, and fresh through stock rotation.
- Maintain the salad bar and prepare cut fruits and vegetables.
- Assist in building attractive displays.
- Complete product logs accurately.
- Handle spoiled, damaged, new, and discontinued products according to company policy.
- Maintain general sanitation in the department, adhering to cleaning schedules and health/OSHA requirements.
- Dispose of trash properly.
- Minimize shrink and control damages.
- Report shortages and overages to management.
- Assist with receiving, unloading, checking-in, breaking-down, and storing deliveries (training provided).
- Assist with baling cardboard (training provided).
- Cooperate with co-workers and superiors to ensure smooth department and store function.
- Continuously improve job performance.
- Utilize all company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist in other departments as needed.
Requirements
- Must be able to perform essential duties with or without accommodation.
- Completed or working towards a High School Diploma or GED.
- No prior experience required.
