About the Role

Responsibilities

• Keep the produce department well-stocked and appealing to meet customer demands.
• Greet customers, answer questions, handle special requests, and resolve concerns promptly.
• Unpack merchandise, clean and trim produce, and stock the department.
• Ensure merchandise is in saleable condition by rotating stock and applying correct signage.
• Maintain the salad bar and prepare cut fruits and vegetables as needed.
• Assist in building attractive displays and completing product logs.
• Handle spoiled, damaged, new, and discontinued products according to company policy.
• Maintain general sanitation in the department, following cleaning schedules and guidelines.
• Dispose of trash properly.
• Assist in minimizing shrink and controlling damages.
• Report shortages and overages to the manager.
• Assist with receiving, unloading, checking-in, and storing deliveries, potentially operating power or hand jacks (training provided).
• Assist with baling cardboard or other related duties (training provided).
• Cooperate with co-workers and superiors to ensure smooth department and store function.
• Continuously improve job performance.
• Utilize all company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including cut-resistant gloves, safety cutters, and company-sponsored footwear.
• Assist in other departments as needed.

Requirements

• Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily with or without accommodation.
• Completed or working towards a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• No prior experience required.
