About the Role
As part of the Distribution team, this role assists in developing an effective cycle count process and resolving inventory issues. The objective is to ensure products are delivered on time, to the correct destination, in the ordered quantity, and with agreed-upon quality standards, consistent with company and customer expectations. This position reports directly to the Distribution Inventory Control Manager and collaborates with other managers to enhance the customer shopping experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing an effective cycle count process.
- Research and resolve inventory issues.
- Classify, label, and warehouse all product inventory.
- Perform accurate quarterly and year-end physical inventory counts.
- Reconcile inventory records for accuracy.
- Assist receiving and shipping departments in logging incoming inventory purchases.
- Assist the loss prevention department with investigations when required.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels.
- Report shortages, overages, and inventory levels monthly for replenishment.
- Assist the inventory control manager with resource allocation, training, safety, efficiency, and execution to promised delivery.
- Coordinate logistic distribution plans impacting ship dates.
- Coordinate availability of all necessary product.
- Coordinate scheduling and release of product and transfer processes between locations.
- Develop, maintain, and enforce proper practices for product lines.
- Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, and streamline work processes.
- Work cooperatively and jointly with all departments and vendors/suppliers to provide seamless customer service.
- Perform additional functions as assigned by management.
Requirements
- One year of inventory control-related experience.
- Analytical, multi-tasking, and critical thinking skills required.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Knowledge of inventory software.
- Proficiency in PC-based applications.
- Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
- Available to work a flexible retail operations schedule including holidays, weekends, and evenings.
- Must be able to lift, lower, push, and pull all sizes of furniture up to and in excess of 100 lbs.
- Must be able to unload shuttle inventory trucks.
- Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, reach, twist, push, and pull in the process of moving furniture, accessories, boxes, and packages.
- Must have authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for sponsorship.
