About the Role
The Journeyperson Plumber operates facility systems, performs preventative and corrective maintenance, and provides routine services on mechanical and electrical equipment. This role ensures compliance with company policies, trade certifications, and internal/external requirements including environmental, health, safety, security, and fire protection.
Responsibilities
- Determines piping system requirements and pipe sizing.
- Measures, cuts, threads, and bends pipes to required shape and size.
- Interprets blueprints, drawings, and specifications to map plumbing layouts.
- Cuts openings in walls or floors for pipes and fittings.
- Installs, replaces, and repairs valves, pumps, piping systems, fixtures, and equipment.
- Tests pipes for leaks and other issues.
- Performs work in accordance with established processes and practices.
- Complies with all internal and external requirements including environmental, health, safety, and fire protection.
- Responds to routine and on-demand service requests.
- Performs preventative and corrective maintenance activities.
- Monitors and inspects facility plumbing systems to ensure uptime and safety.
- Follows health and safety standards and complies with building codes.
- Assists in the implementation of the preventative maintenance (PM) program.
- Identifies, records, and escalates deficiencies.
- Maintains accurate inventory of assigned tools and equipment.
- Arranges for repair and replacement of tools and equipment.
- Provides observations and recommendations regarding facility plumbing conditions.
- Participates in and assists with facility-related projects.
- Ensures work performed complies with corporate and legislated policies.
- Submits all expenditures on a timely basis.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a licensed Plumber.
- Must be able to work shifts, be available for on-call/standby, and emergency call-outs.
- Must be willing to wear Personal Protective Equipment.
- Must meet enhanced security clearance requirements.
- Possesses a valid driver's license.
