About the Role
The Crisis Therapist coordinates services for children transitioning from institutional settings into family or community-based environments. The role focuses on fostering stability through authentic relationships and providing mental health services within homes, schools, and community settings.
Responsibilities
- Serve as clinical lead and provide crisis intervention and mental health services
- Provide counseling, therapy, and case management for client transitions
- Participate in treatment reviews, staff meetings, and necessary coordination meetings
- Coordinate with collateral contacts, caregivers, and family members
- Collaborate with the treatment team to determine follow-up service plans
- Develop and maintain relationships with community members and providers
- Participate in the on-call system
- Complete progress notes, paperwork, and service tracking documentation
- Participate in weekly supervision with the program supervisor
- Maintain a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and on-call coverage
- Comply with child abuse reporting and Medicaid/Medi-Cal requirements
Requirements
- Master’s degree in social work, psychology, or counseling
- Active registration with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences
- At least 21 years of age
- TB test clearance and fingerprinting clearance
- Compliance with state/federal licensing or certification requirements
- Own vehicle with valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Insurability through company policy
- Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team

- $2000 sign-on bonus
- $4000 salary increase upon licensure
