About the Role
As a Diesel Mechanic Technician, you’ll be diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. This role is for all skill levels, from entry-level to master technicians.
Responsibilities
- Perform minor to advanced repairs as outlined on the repair order
- Diagnose causes of malfunctions and complete repairs as directed by a supervisor
- Assist other technicians on major repairs
- Communicate with the parts department to obtain needed parts
- Save and tag warranty or customer-requested parts
- Examine vehicles for additional safety or service needs
- Document all work performed and recommended, including warranty information
- Road test vehicles as required or refer to test technician
- Keep work area, service truck, and customer vehicles clean and organized
- Report machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor
- Stay current on manufacturer technical bulletins
- Follow all federal, state, and local regulations, and adhere to Hunter Truck safety policies
- Handle complex mechanical and electrical issues with minimal supervision (Expert to Master levels)
- Perform electrical and/or air conditioning system repairs (Expert to Master levels)
- Perform major component repairs and/or overhauls (Expert to Master levels)
Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License required
- Must meet company insurability standards
- Regular standing and use of hands
- Frequent walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
- Regularly lift/move up to 50 lbs, frequently up to 100 lbs, and occasionally more than 100 lbs
- Vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment

Salary/Compensations
- Earn up to $5,000 for Expert and Master-Level Diesel Technicians (Sign-On Bonus)
