About the Role

First Round is seeking a Chief of Staff to work directly with founder and Partner Josh Kopelman. This role will supercharge the investment team by creating and managing processes that deliver world-class services and experiences to entrepreneurs. The position engages across all functions of the partnership, including portfolio engagement, special projects, internal operations, reviewing new investment opportunities, financial reporting, and managing administrative staff. Critically, this person will also drive and support First Round's AI operations and product builds, shaping, testing, and shipping internal products and automations. This role balances strategy with sharp execution.

Responsibilities

Manage and track new investment opportunities
Conduct research and investment diligence
Manage Josh’s projects and events
Initiate and lead special projects, including building internal products and programs, and research deep dives
Drive First Round's internal AI and tooling work, helping shape, test, and operationalize products and automations
Manage and track relationships and communication within the First Round community and partner networks
Manage and process email communication
Ensure Josh is ready for every meeting and moment by prioritizing his time and days
Oversee scheduling and contact management performed by the executive assistant

Requirements
