About the Role

As a Design Engineer, you will prepare schematics, layout drawings, bills of materials, and submittals for electrical control panels in accordance with UL508A and NEC standards. You will collaborate with end-users, engineers, and project managers to create high-quality industrial control systems while solving challenging application problems.

Responsibilities

  • Draft electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts using AutoCAD
  • Develop BOMs, I/O lists, and control panel requirements
  • Interpret client specifications and communicate with customers to understand objectives
  • Analyze vendor data sheets to determine component functionality
  • Apply knowledge of fabrication techniques, UL standards, and field installation to develop drawing packages
  • Document control panel designs, revisions, and updates
  • Troubleshoot startup issues related to drawings, specifications, or technical changes
  • Collaborate with project managers and estimators to assess projects and submit proposals
  • Conduct field site visits to assess project conditions
  • Serve as technical lead and mentor for the design department, including supervising Designers and Drafters

Requirements

  • Electrical Engineering degree from a 4-year university or equivalent industrial electrical experience
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial controls
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively
  • Ability to take initiative and handle ambiguity
  • Legal right to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
  • Completion of pre-employment drug screen
