About the Role
Harvey is seeking a Technical Revenue Accounting Lead to manage revenue recognition for a growing portfolio of customer and partnership agreements. This role involves partnering with various departments, acting as the subject-matter expert on ASC 606, and developing scalable processes and systems to support company growth. Responsibilities
- Provide technical accounting guidance on non-standard revenue transactions, including partnership agreements and complex subscription and usage-based deal structures.
- Evaluate the revenue accounting implications of new products, pricing models, and go-to-market motions, and advise cross-functional teams.
- Develop, document, and maintain revenue recognition policies, position papers, and accounting playbooks.
- Support month-end close processes and coordinate with external auditors.
- Help implement and optimize revenue systems and automation.
- Design and maintain internal controls over revenue for audit and future SOX readiness.
- Assist with ad hoc financial reporting requests.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in revenue accounting.
- Experience in public accounting and at a high-growth technology company, with an emphasis in technical accounting.
- Deep knowledge of ASC 606 and demonstrated experience applying guidance to non-standard contracts, including ASC 340-40 (costs to obtain a contract).
- Demonstrated ability to write clear technical accounting memos, research guidance, state a position, and defend the conclusion.
- Proven ability to partner cross-functionally with Sales, Legal, Deal Desk, and Product in a fast-moving environment.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills and comfort operating amid ambiguity.
- Experience with Netsuite and Netsuite ARM (or similar).
