About the Role
This frontline supervisor position supports FedEx's Safety Above All Culture by managing day-to-day operations and staff, ensuring safe and efficient package sortation, and maintaining compliance with company policies and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a champion for FedEx's Safety Above All Culture and support all related initiatives.
- Manage hiring, terminations, coaching, training, recognition, performance evaluation, discipline, employee concerns, and staff productivity.
- Plan, organize, staff, direct, and control specific day-to-day operations.
- Assign and manage employees to ensure safe and efficient package sortation, minimizing operational cost and maximizing operational quality.
- Analyze operational performance through observation, report interpretation, and collaboration to identify improvement opportunities and execute action plans.
- Lead daily employee and/or planning meetings to communicate operational updates and daily goals.
- Participate in the development and administration of company employee relations strategies, maintaining confidentiality.
- Participate in the development and administration of company safety strategies and programs.
- Investigate, resolve, and/or escalate customer service issues.
- Train new employees on job duties, performance expectations, and ensure compliance with FXG policies, procedures, and training requirements.
- Mentor and develop critical skill sets for new and/or less-experienced Operations Supervisors.
- Adapt quickly to change to meet dynamic business needs, displaying flexibility and urgency while leading employees positively.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Six (6) months experience required in one of the following: package handler at FedEx, fast-paced environment (retail, hospitality, fulfillment center, warehouse, dock, or stock room/stock functions), military experience with honorable discharge, or supervisory experience.
- May need to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- May work in hot or cold temperatures.
- May work in an environment with loud noise and fumes.
