About the Role
The Airport Operations Coordinator serves as a key member of the airport team, supporting daily operations, tenant services, regulatory compliance, records management, communications, and special projects at Pearson Field Airport, a historic community asset.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a point of contact for airport tenants, visitors, and stakeholders.
- Coordinate hangar agreements, waitlists, inspections, and related communications.
- Maintain operational records and support regulatory compliance activities.
- Assist with Airport Advisory Committee meetings, agendas, materials, and records.
- Support emergency preparedness efforts and airport operational readiness.
- Track facility maintenance needs, inspections, and work orders.
- Assist with newsletters, website updates, and tenant communications.
- Support special projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Two (2) years of experience in general administrative support, light bookkeeping.
- Intermediate Excel and Word.
- Knowledge of record keeping and records management.
- Knowledge of modern office procedures, methods and computer equipment.
- Knowledge of use of personal computers and basic software.
- Ability to work in a manner consistent with the City of Vancouver’s Operating Principles.
- Ability to work and act as a team player in all interactions with other City employees.
- Ability to provide a high level of customer service at all times.
- Ability to project and maintain a positive image with those contacted in the course of work.
- Ability to develop and maintain collaborative and respectful working relationships with team members and others.
