About the Role

As the Human Resources Generalist, you will partner with company stakeholders to provide support on the full employment life cycle. You will be an employee relations resource, managing performance plans, consulting on disciplinary issues, facilitating workplace accidents and supporting the case disability management process. The role will also support with Moneris' annual performance and talent management processes as well as special projects that may include organizational design, process review/design, compliance projects or other projects to support key HR/organizational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a point of contact for employees and managers on routine HR matters, partnering with the HR Business Partner and other HR teams as needed.
  • Respond to employee and manager inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, programs and processes.
  • Escalate complex employee relations, performance management and policy matters to the HR Business Partner as appropriate.
  • Assist in providing consistent interpretation and application of HR policies and procedures.
  • Partner with the HR Business Partner to support assigned client groups across a range of HR activities and initiatives.
  • Participate in discussions with managers regarding employee relations matters, performance concerns and workplace issues, while building practical HR consulting skills.
  • Support the HR Business Partner in the delivery of talent management, succession planning, workforce planning, organizational design and change management activities.
  • Assist in preparing materials, analysis and recommendations to support business and people decisions.
  • Support employee relations processes by coordinating documentation, tracking follow-up actions and maintaining appropriate records.
  • Assist with performance management processes, disciplinary actions and workplace investigations under the guidance of the HR Business Partner.
  • Support compliance-related activities and help ensure adherence to employment legislation, internal policies and workplace requirements.
  • Monitor legislative developments and support updates to policies, procedures and HR practices as required.
  • Support the administration and coordination of disability management, accommodation and workplace injury cases.
  • Participate as a member of the Health and Safety Committee.
  • Coordinate and publish monthly health and safety communications and bulletins.
  • Maintain documentation and reporting related to health and safety initiatives and activities.
  • Support the development, implementation and maintenance of HR programs, initiatives and annual people processes.
  • Conduct exit interviews and provide summaries and insights to the HR team.
  • Assist with HR reporting, data analysis, presentations and other business support activities.
  • Support HRIS maintenance, employee documentation and HR records management.
  • Participate in special projects and continuous improvement initiatives as required.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in Human Resources, employee relations, talent management or a related business support function.
  • Experience gained through internships, co-op placements or rotational HR assignments may be considered.
  • Experience supporting managers and employees in a customer-focused environment is preferred.
  • Exposure to employee relations, talent processes, HR operations or employment legislation is considered an asset.
  • Previous experience in the payments or financial services industry is considered an asset.
