About the Role
U.S. Bank is seeking a strategic and results-driven General Manager to lead the Edward Jones (EJ) cobrand card program. This role has full P&L accountability and is responsible for the end-to-end strategy, performance, and evolution of the business, working closely with the partner, Edward Jones. This role will lead the partner relationship, drive growth and long-term value while meeting enterprise return and risk expectations. This is a critical, high growth, high visibility program for U.S. Bank.
Responsibilities
- Full Portfolio and P&L Ownership: Serve as General Manager accountable for the EJ cobrand card program, representing over 150 k clients and over $2B in sales, projected to continue to grow double digits.
- Partner Management: Lead cobrand partner relationships and contracts, including owning senior relationships, driving joint execution of initiatives, and negotiating decisions that drive mutual upside.
- Product Strategy & Modernization: Lead the design and execution of a next generation cobrand product suite and feature set, leveraging partner assets and programs, that addresses evolving customer needs and drives engagement in the partner context.
- Customer Value & Experience: Develop compelling benefits and experiences leveraging partner assets that customers actively use and value across spending, borrowing, and redemption moments.
- Customer Acquisition & Onboarding: Grow new customer acquisition through targeted marketing strategies, effective activation of cobrand partner channels, and streamlined onboarding experiences that convert prospects into loyal customers.
- Digital-First Experience Design: Reimagine end-to-end customer interactions through a digital-first (mobile-led) lens, delivering seamless, intuitive, and data-informed experiences, seamlessly straddling US Bank and partner ecosystems, to strengthen customer engagement.
- Sustainable Growth & Risk Management: Drive portfolio growth within defined return and hurdle rates through disciplined, risk-based pricing and decisioning integrated across the full customer lifecycle.
- Servicing Excellence & Advocacy: Maintain a relentless focus on identifying and eliminating customer pain points, ensuring every servicing interaction is seamless, intuitive, efficient, and contributes to higher customer advocacy scores.
Requirements
- Extensive senior leadership experience managing large scale financial products with P&L responsibility.
- Proven track record of leading high-performing teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross functional teams across product, marketing, risk, technology, finance and operations.
- Strong executive presence with the ability to champion change across the organization and influence senior management and leaders at all levels of the organization.
- Strategic thinker with a bias for action and results.
- Deep understanding of partner relationship management and co-branded credit card programs. Ability to negotiate mutually valuable outcomes with partners.
- Expertise in navigating complex regulatory environments and ensuring compliance.
- Ability to lead through ambiguity and drive innovation in product and service delivery.
- Passion for customer experience and delivering best-in-class customer solutions.
- Collaborative leadership style with a focus on mentorship and talent development.
