About the Role
PhysicsX is seeking a Finance Assistant to join their finance team, offering hands-on experience in a high-growth deep-tech business. This role involves managing transactional finance processes, including expense management and bank reconciliations across multiple entities.
Responsibilities
- Reviewing and approving employee expense claims in line with company policy across the UK, US, and Singapore entities.
- Reconciling receipts to card transactions and following up on any missing documentation.
- Ensuring expenses are correctly coded and compliant before payment.
- Performing regular bank account reconciliations across multiple entities.
- Investigating and resolving discrepancies promptly and accurately.
- Maintaining clean and audit-ready records.
- Supporting the wider finance team with ad-hoc transactional tasks and process improvements.
Requirements
- Switched-on and a fast learner.
- Highly organised with a reliable approach to managing workload and deadlines.
- Accurate and detail-oriented.
- Proactive communicator who flags issues early and escalates appropriately.
- Comfortable in a dynamic, fast-paced environment requiring good time management.
- Experience with Xero or a similar accounting platform is a plus.
- Prior experience in a finance, bookkeeping, or accounting role is a plus.
