About the Role

PhysicsX is seeking a Finance Assistant to join their finance team, offering hands-on experience in a high-growth deep-tech business. This role involves managing transactional finance processes, including expense management and bank reconciliations across multiple entities.

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing and approving employee expense claims in line with company policy across the UK, US, and Singapore entities.
  • Reconciling receipts to card transactions and following up on any missing documentation.
  • Ensuring expenses are correctly coded and compliant before payment.
  • Performing regular bank account reconciliations across multiple entities.
  • Investigating and resolving discrepancies promptly and accurately.
  • Maintaining clean and audit-ready records.
  • Supporting the wider finance team with ad-hoc transactional tasks and process improvements.

Requirements

  • Switched-on and a fast learner.
  • Highly organised with a reliable approach to managing workload and deadlines.
  • Accurate and detail-oriented.
  • Proactive communicator who flags issues early and escalates appropriately.
  • Comfortable in a dynamic, fast-paced environment requiring good time management.
  • Experience with Xero or a similar accounting platform is a plus.
  • Prior experience in a finance, bookkeeping, or accounting role is a plus.
