About the Role
The Director of Marketing and Communications will develop and execute brand management, communications, and marketing strategies to drive community engagement, build organizational identity, and increase revenue. This role works closely with leadership to manage media relations, advertising, and digital engagement efforts.
Responsibilities
- Develop and lead marketing and communications strategy for program models including The Capri, PYC Arts & Tech High School, and after-school programs.
- Direct aesthetic vision and voice across all content, including graphic identity, collateral, digital platforms, and signage.
- Oversee development and maintenance of PCYC and The Capri websites.
- Collaborate with program directors to create marketing and audience engagement plans and registration pages.
- Serve as organizational spokesperson and manage media relations.
- Compose and distribute press releases to advance public awareness.
- Utilize traditional and innovative platforms to build a lasting identity for The Capri.
- Lead market research and data analysis to identify trends and assess impact.
- Assist leadership in developing presentations and speeches.
- Provide recommendations on graphics and distribution to support departmental reporting.
- Collaborate with the Development Director on strategic marketing, corporate sponsorships, and Annual Gala communications.
- Develop, implement, and manage the communications budget.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field.
- Experience in nonprofit, arts, education, or community-based organizations.
- Background in audience development and community engagement.
- Knowledge of storytelling strategies for diverse and intergenerational audiences.
- Proven experience developing and executing integrated marketing and communications strategies.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Demonstrated success in media relations and public relations.
- Proficiency in digital marketing, including email, social media, SEO/SEM, and content strategy.
- Experience analyzing digital and audience engagement data.
- Familiarity with content management systems and graphic design tools.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong cultural competency and commitment to equity and inclusion.
- Experience managing marketing budgets and vendor relationships.
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
