About the Role

Drives the development and execution of category strategies across assortment, pricing, new product launches, and lifecycle management. This role proactively conducts in-depth analysis, manages product data, and partners with cross-functional teams to inform key business decisions and optimize category performance.

Responsibilities

  • Research sales trends, price points, classification performance, and competitive activity to inform product decisions and shape category recommendations.
  • Ensure the development and maintenance of product architectures and plans, ensuring accuracy and alignment to cost and margin goals.
  • Support the execution of new product introductions and existing category strategies.
  • Prepare and present recommendations on new product plans, launch readiness, and category priorities to stakeholders.
  • Research the analysis of competitive pricing, sales trends, and margin targets to support the formal price change process for new and existing products.
  • Collaborate with management to develop and validate pricing scenarios and recommendations, ensuring optimal profitability while maintaining market competitiveness.
  • Oversee recurring and ad hoc reporting of pricing and gross margin performance, partnering with management to identify risks and opportunities to improve category results.
  • Assess current pricing tools and processes to identify and propose solutions for improved efficiency and accuracy.
  • Execute lifecycle activities, including product discontinuations, obsolescence planning, and strategies to address overstock.
  • Ensure the accuracy of item data maintenance, SKU setup, and architecture updates to support product launches.
  • Research assortment, trend, and competitive analysis, and provide clear recommendations for optimizing the current assortment.
  • Conduct in-depth competitive research and market reviews to gather insights for strategic planning.
  • Partner closely with Merchandising, Product Development, Marketing, PR, Visual Merchandising, and regional teams to inform and execute category strategies.
  • Drive clear and consistent communication of category updates, pricing actions, and lifecycle decisions across various internal stakeholders.
  • Guide and assist the preparation of key initiatives, presentations, and product insights, ensuring accuracy and strategic alignment.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior team members or coordinators.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Merchandising, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in Category Management, Merchandising, Retail, or a related role.
  • Strong ability to analyze sales, pricing, assortment, and competitive trends.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects and adhere to project timelines.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Understanding of product, assortment planning, and category management processes within a retail or luxury environment.
  • Understanding of the product offered at Tiffany & Co.
  • Basic gemstone knowledge.
  • Some store line experience, demonstrating a deep overall knowledge and understanding of retail business practices.
