About the Role

The Department of World Languages, Literatures, and Cultures is seeking an advanced language student to serve as an undergraduate teaching assistant for French. This role involves leading 50-minute drill sessions for first-year students to reinforce course material, complementing the instructor's sessions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead 50-minute drill sessions in French for first-year students.
  • Meet weekly with the course instructor to discuss material and coordinate exercises.
  • Organize and prepare all exercises for drill sessions.
  • Present drills and maintain a vital classroom atmosphere.
  • Take attendance at all drill sessions and report records to the course instructor.
  • Communicate concerns to the course instructor or the T.A. Program Director.

Requirements

  • Must be an advanced language student.
  • Must complete a brief training program.
  • Must bring original, unexpired, authorized personal identification documents to complete the I-9 form.
  • Resume and cover letter are advised.
