About the Role
The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for sales and marketing efforts to increase profitable sales by building and maintaining high-quality relationships with new and existing customers. Utilize company digital tools, products, and services to connect with consumers, develop creative solutions, generate sales volume, and provide excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
- Selling, marketing, promoting, and demonstrating products, effectively communicating features and benefits.
- Increasing business by generating sales to new customers and selling additional products to existing customers.
- Collaborating with leadership, team members, and suppliers on sales strategies and new market development.
- Assisting customers with product selection and application using knowledge, internal specialists, and supplier representatives.
- Establishing and maintaining customer relationships.
- Learning and evaluating customer operations to identify objectives, requirements, and preferences to present tailored solutions.
- Collaborating with customers and team members for product quotations and providing ongoing communication throughout the purchasing lifecycle.
- Working with management, credit, and customers to resolve payment issues promptly.
- Gathering and reporting information on the company, competitors, pricing, products, and market trends.
- Actively participating in professional development to improve selling skills and maintain technical capabilities.
- Participating in company training, promotions, sales meetings, supplier seminars, and training schools.
- Maintaining accurate and timely records, including sales call schedules and expense reports.
- Coordinating sales calls with vendors to introduce and demonstrate products, identify customer needs, and promote solutions.
- Utilizing and championing digital tools, customer solutions, and services.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 3+ years of sales or electrical industry experience.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- High School or GED.
- Ability to exhibit a positive, friendly, and helpful attitude with customers and be sensitive to their needs.
- Customer oriented and motivated with excellent communication, presentation, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Excellent negotiation skills, interpersonal skills, and ability to drive decisions with influence.
- Product and application knowledge essential.
- Highly self-motivated.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office, relevant ERP systems, and Customer Relation Management Tools (CRM).
