About the Role
This position fabricates and assembles fire dampers, following guidance from lead personnel and operating various manufacturing machinery.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate and assemble fire dampers.
- Follow guidance from lead person(s) for basic assembly of fire dampers.
- Run roll forming machines.
- Assemble finished dampers.
- Perform Mig welding on machine parts.
- Work within multiple departments and run multiple machines.
- Communicate any issues effectively.
- Safely operate machines while maintaining a clean and safe work area.
- Use assorted metal cutting saws and electric handheld and manual tools.
- Operate multiple press breaks.
- Perform bench assembly of products per company standards.
- Perform machining of component parts using sharp cutting tools.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be able to work 10-hour shifts Monday-Thursday.
- Must be flexible for overtime and weekend work as needed.
- Must be able to work as part of a team and independently.
- Basic math skills required.
- Must be able to read a tape measure.
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
- Ability to use low voltage electric current readers.
- Ability to operate a manual/electric hand truck in and between multiple departments.
- Minimum of 1 year experience reading a tape measure.
- Must pass tape measure exam.
- Manufacturing experience is a plus.
- Must be in good physical condition.
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, push, pull, twist, and turn for long periods of time in a manufacturing environment.
- Must be able to lean over worktable(s) for periods of time.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to push and pull up to 65 lbs.
- Must have good hand/eye coordination.
