About the Role
Nuvance Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for Employee Health Services at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. This role supports occupational health for 16,000 employees across 7 hospitals and multiple contracted companies and schools. The department fosters a collegial environment focused on employee well-being.
Responsibilities
- Provides medical care in an occupational health setting including acute care, follow-up care and medical surveillance examinations.
- Assesses and treats injuries & illnesses.
- Handles injury case management including development of plans to return employees to the workplace.
- Conducts post offer physical examinations.
- Conducts periodic and medical surveillance examinations.
- Orders and interprets diagnostic tests.
- Communicates with employers regarding work status and suitability for employment.
- Performs periodic case review to monitor quality of care.
- Works closely with department manager and Medical Director to determine work schedules, patient flow patterns & other general duties.
- Conducts ergonomic and safety work site evaluations.
- Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
Requirements
- Graduate of an approved PA Program or Master Degree, FNP.
- NY State NP/PA license.
- Federal DEA Registration.
- Current Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) or Board Certified Nurse Practitioner.
- Prior experience in Occupational Medicine, Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care.
- ATLS, ACLS & BLS certification are required. ATLS training will be scheduled as necessary.
- Hours are 7:30 am – 4 pm Monday – Friday. No nights, weekends or call.
