About the Role

Nuvance Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for Employee Health Services at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. This role supports occupational health for 16,000 employees across 7 hospitals and multiple contracted companies and schools. The department fosters a collegial environment focused on employee well-being.

Responsibilities

• Provides medical care in an occupational health setting including acute care, follow-up care and medical surveillance examinations.
• Assesses and treats injuries & illnesses.
• Handles injury case management including development of plans to return employees to the workplace.
• Conducts post offer physical examinations.
• Conducts periodic and medical surveillance examinations.
• Orders and interprets diagnostic tests.
• Communicates with employers regarding work status and suitability for employment.
• Performs periodic case review to monitor quality of care.
• Works closely with department manager and Medical Director to determine work schedules, patient flow patterns & other general duties.
• Conducts ergonomic and safety work site evaluations.
• Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved PA Program or Master Degree, FNP.
• NY State NP/PA license.
• Federal DEA Registration.
• Current Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) or Board Certified Nurse Practitioner.
• Prior experience in Occupational Medicine, Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care.
• ATLS, ACLS & BLS certification are required. ATLS training will be scheduled as necessary.
• Hours are 7:30 am – 4 pm Monday – Friday. No nights, weekends or call.
