About the Role

A global manufacturer of fibre optic solutions is seeking a Business Development Manager to establish and grow its Data Centre Fibre division across the UK and Europe. This role offers the autonomy to shape strategy, build strategic partnerships, and drive revenue in a high-growth sector.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a growth strategy for the UK and European markets.
  • Drive product specification through M&E consultants, design consultants, and engineering practices.
  • Build relationships with hyperscalers, colocation providers, and key data centre stakeholders.
  • Identify, appoint, and develop distribution and reseller partners across Europe.
  • Manage sales cycles from early-stage design through to project delivery.
  • Provide market intelligence to shape long-term divisional strategy.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and customer meetings.

Requirements

  • Experience selling single-mode fibre or fibre optic solutions.
  • Background in data centre connectivity and communications infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of structured cabling and network infrastructure solutions.
  • Experience with telecommunications infrastructure products.
  • Proven track record in consultant-led specification sales.
  • Experience selling into the data centre market.
  • Strong network of M&E consultants, design consultants, and engineering firms.
  • Proven track record of winning specifications at the design stage.
  • Experience developing channel, reseller, or distribution networks.
  • Strong commercial acumen and a new business mindset.
