About the Role

The Assistant Residence Manager oversees IRA operations, supports the Resident Manager, and assumes facility oversight in their absence. This role participates in DSP orientation, supervision, and evaluation, coordinates staff schedules, verifies hours, and manages sick leave. The position also involves procuring and managing personal items, overseeing petty cash, and maintaining detailed expenditure records.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees IRA operations as a support to the Resident Manager and assumes facility oversight in the Manager's absence.
  • Participates in DSP orientation, supervision, and evaluation.
  • Coordinates staff schedules, verifies hours, and manages sick leave.
  • Procures and manages clothing and personal items.
  • Oversees petty cash and maintains detailed expenditure records.
  • Monitors and observes staff, providing feedback on the implementation of service plans.
  • Follows up with DSPs and collaborates with managers and other professionals to support medical and clinical care.
  • Responds to requests from S&Q, Centralized Schedulers, and DQI Survey, and works with AVP in the manager's absence.
  • Monitors and maintains compliance with program regulations, policies, and standards.
  • Coordinates and provides ongoing training and development opportunities for staff.
  • Collaborates and communicates with external agencies, families, and healthcare providers.
  • Implements and oversees emergency preparedness protocols and procedures.
  • Maintains accurate documentation, progress notes, and reports.
  • Builds and maintains positive relationships with individuals, staff, community partners, advocates, and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or GED
  • Valid NY/NJ/CT/PA Driver’s License with 6 months of experience and 6 or less points
  • Minimum of 1 year of progressive experience in residential services
  • Supervisory experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of Developmental Disabilities
  • Experience in Person-Centered Planning
  • Familiarity with applicable regulations, standards, and guidelines governing residential programs for persons with developmental disabilities
  • Proficiency in budgeting, financial management, and resource allocation
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to respond calmly and effectively to crises or emergencies
  • Experience in maintaining accurate documentation, including progress notes, incident reports, and regulatory compliance records
  • Demonstrated strong commitment to safety
