About the Role

The Urgent Care Fellowship program is a minimum 9-month continuing specialty rotation designed to provide enhanced clinical experience in Urgent Care Medicine. Fellows will receive one-on-one preceptorship with clinical faculty, hands-on patient care experience, and ongoing lectures guided by a provided didactic curriculum. The program's mission is to equip fellows with comprehensive cognitive and clinical education to become competent, proficient, and professional urgent care providers, positioning them for success in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Work collaboratively with Urgent Care teams under the mentorship of experienced NP/PA’s to provide care for patients.
Examine, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages with acute illnesses and injuries or exacerbations of chronic disease.
Order evidence-based testing, prescribe medications, and refer to outside specialists as required.
Provide occupational medicine services, including DOT exams and the treatment of Worker’s Compensation injuries.
Perform pre-participation physicals for camps, sports and employment.
Maintain patient charts accurately and comprehensively.
Document patient information in Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

Successful completion of an accredited approved PA or FNP program.
Physician Assistants must have active board certification with NCCPA.
Family Nurse Practitioners must have active board certification with AANP or ANCC.
Licensure as a Physician Assistant or Family Nurse Practitioner in the state where you are applying is required.
Demonstrated clinical competence.
Superior verbal and written communication skills.
Interpersonal effectiveness and customer relation skills.
Computer competence.
An active desire to learn.
