About the Role
The Arc, Oneida-Lewis Chapter is seeking a CDL Bus Driver to join our Facilities Management Department. This role is responsible for the safe and courteous transportation of individuals to and from various program sites, requiring a strong commitment to safety and excellent driving skills.
Responsibilities
- Safe and courteous operation of assigned vehicles, maintaining appropriate speed based on road conditions and always observing posted speed limits
- Follow all New York State driving laws, DMV regulations (including 19-A), and agency policies and procedures
- Perform complete vehicle pre-checks prior to operation
- Report all accidents, no matter how minor, to the Director of Facilities Management
- Report any traffic violations or citations immediately, whether in an agency or personal vehicle
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness, including disinfecting and ensuring a neat interior
- Complete required recordkeeping, including daily attendance and reports
- Support the Facilities Department as needed, based on operational needs
- Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of the people we support by adhering to all agency policies
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and agency standards
- Attend required trainings, meetings, and complete all assigned responsibilities
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid, clean NYS CDL Class B license with passenger endorsement
- Ability to meet all NYS DMV 19-A requirements and pass required physicals
- Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Adequate manual dexterity and ability to sit or stand for extended periods
