About the Role
Join IN2 in Berlin as a motivated Mechanical Engineering Intern to support our growing team. Gain practical experience in the design of mechanical building-services systems and work alongside engineers delivering projects across a range of building types. This role is ideal for turning academic knowledge into practical design experience while learning how engineering projects are developed, coordinated, and delivered.
Responsibilities
- Support the design of heating, cooling, ventilation, and plumbing systems.
- Assist with engineering calculations, system sizing, and equipment selection.
- Prepare drawings, schematics, schedules, and technical documentation.
- Support the development of energy-efficient and low-carbon design solutions.
- Assist with BIM and interdisciplinary coordination.
- Review architectural layouts and project information.
- Participate in project meetings and internal design reviews.
- Help prepare reports, specifications, and presentation material.
Requirements
- Currently studying, or recently graduated in, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Interested in building-services design and sustainable construction.
- Basic understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, or HVAC systems.
- Comfortable working in English.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and keen to develop new skills.
- Comfortable working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Skills
- Familiarity with Revit, AutoCAD, or engineering-calculation software is an advantage.
- German language skills are an advantage.
