Responsibilities
- Keep the Grocery department well stocked, organized, and appealing to meet customer demands and maximize sales.
- Build displays to drive incremental sales.
- Stock and rotate merchandise to ensure freshness.
- Keep product within easy customer reach.
- Store excess merchandise according to backroom organization guidelines.
- Greet customers, answer questions, and resolve concerns promptly in a polite and professional manner.
- Apply proper stocking techniques to ensure products are properly located on shelves.
- Ensure merchandise is in saleable condition with correct prices and signs.
- Assist with receiving, unloading, checking-in, breaking-down, and storing deliveries using power or hand jacks (if trained).
- Handle damaged or discontinued items according to company policy.
- Remove product that cannot be sold.
- Maintain general sanitation in the department, following cleaning schedules and guidelines.
- Ensure work areas, equipment, counters, and display cases are well-maintained, clean, and meet health and OSHA requirements.
- Dispose of trash properly.
- Maintain productivity standards, work methods, and shrink control.
- Comply with security regulations and policies.
- Put out stock at an acceptable rate.
- Assist with baling cardboard or other related duties (if trained).
- Ensure smooth function of department and store by cooperating with co-workers and supervisors.
- Continuously improve job performance.
- Utilize all company-provided Personal Protected Equipment (PPE), including cut-resistant gloves, safety cutters, and company-sponsored footwear.
- Assist in other departments as needed.
Requirements
- Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily with or without accommodation.
- Completed or working towards a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- No prior experience required.
