About the Role
The Forwarding Logistics Coordinator is an intermediary who organizes the safe, efficient, and cost-effective transportation of goods on behalf of importers, exporters, or other companies. This role requires careful consideration of high-value goods and customer delivery requirements, arranging the best transport methods using various carriers and the Loomis Truck Fleet, and working closely with all Loomis stations for seamless operations.
Responsibilities
- Investigate and plan the most appropriate route for a shipment, considering the valuable or hazardous nature of the goods, cost, transit time, and security.
- Arrange appropriate packing, considering climate, terrain, weight, nature of goods, cost, and the delivery and warehousing of goods at their final destination.
- Negotiate contracts, transportation, and handling costs.
- Obtain, check, and prepare documentation to meet customs and insurance requirements, packing specifications, and compliance with overseas countries’ regulations and fiscal regimes.
- Liaise with third parties to move goods (by road, rail, air or sea) in accordance with customer requirements.
- Arrange insurance and assist the client in the event of a claim.
- Arrange payment of freight and other charges or collection of payment on behalf of the client.
- Utilize e-commerce, internet technology, and satellite systems for real-time tracking of goods.
- Maintain communication and control through all phases of the journey, including the production of management reports and statistical and unit cost analysis.
- Act as a consultant in customs matters.
Requirements
- Must be bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Diploma of International Freight Forwarding or related degree qualification, or minimum of 2 years of considerable experience within the freight forwarding/transportation industry.

- $25.56 to $31.25 per hour depending on experience and competency in Import/Export freight forwarding
