About the Role

Play an integral part in the planning and preparation of amazing events, responsible for delivery and setup from small meetings to large-scale productions in some of the UK's best venues and hotels.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main point of contact for clients, ensuring customer expectations and requirements are fulfilled.
  • Prepare, rig, and de-rig equipment with technicians prior to events and be available on-site for ad hoc technical issues.
  • Pro-actively contact clients to develop sales potential, interpret technical solutions, and arrange meetings to establish requirements.
  • Build and maintain a portfolio of standard set designs/visuals to help clients visualize room possibilities.
  • Maximize sales potential by up-selling services to increase turnover, including production and video editing.
  • Participate in capture rate discussions and suggest methods to capture lost business.
  • Monitor sales files for upcoming groups and ensure sales processes are followed.
  • Foster good relations with sales team members to maximize new leads and educate the team on services.
  • Develop a client database, correspond with clients post-event to pursue future business, and gather feedback.
  • Ensure all areas of responsibility are within budget parameters and negotiate preferential rates.
  • Utilize in-house services before outsourcing crew and equipment.
  • Be aware of turnover targets and actively strive to increase revenue.
  • Develop sales and marketing literature specific to the hotel/venue in conjunction with the hotel team/Sales & Marketing in London.
  • Report to the hotel/venue and attend weekly staff meetings to ensure communication.
  • Cultivate good relations with all hotel/venue staff, including sales, banqueting, and front of house teams.
  • Create development plans with hotel teams to improve service levels and address customer concerns.
  • Foster good relations with the London team and all sites to ensure back-up support.
  • Attend regular meetings with the London office to ensure delegated duties are carried out effectively and efficiently.
  • Create and standardize information systems for the London office to view equipment movements, requirements, quotations, and turnover reporting.
  • Develop dry hire shows and large-scale events, including involvement in the tender process and pre-production.
  • Build long-term customer loyalty by converting one-off events to established client accounts.
  • Monitor competitor activity and approach clients for future activity.
  • Delegate technical responsibility to on-site technicians, ensuring duties are met within deadlines.
  • Ensure efficient use of technician time by managing shifts and offering resources to sister hotels.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, Mathematics and English GCSE or equivalent is preferred.
  • Strong AV / live events experience would be preferred.
  • Previous experience within the Service and Hospitality industry would be preferable.
  • Previous experience of audio visual experience, or equivalent in an educational environment would be beneficial.
