About the Role

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation of legal documents and case files for criminal inquiries.
  • Conduct legal research and gather evidence to assist solicitors in building cases.
  • Organise and maintain case files, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Engage with clients to collect information and provide them with updates regarding their cases.
  • Attend court hearings and inquiries, taking notes and providing support as needed.
  • Stay informed about changes and developments in criminal law and relevant legal practices.

Requirements

  • Law degree or equivalent legal qualifications.
  • Police Station Accreditation is preferable or willingness to undertake it.
  • Interest in human rights and working in legal aid is essential.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Prior experience as a paralegal or in a related legal support role is preferred.
  • Strong comprehension of criminal law.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple cases effectively.
  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • Passion for social justice and client advocacy.

Education Level

  • Law degree or equivalent legal qualifications.
