About the Role

This role provides direct support for process equipment and assists production maintenance in performing complex troubleshooting and equipment improvements. The position involves working independently to perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and equipment failure analyses while providing technical leadership and mentoring to less experienced staff.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on complex production equipment and systems.
  • Evaluate and recommend equipment improvements to enhance efficiency, capability, and yield.
  • Conduct equipment failure analyses and troubleshoot complex problems.
  • Prepare technical reports documenting equipment modifications and maintenance procedures.
  • Oversee and review the work of lower-level technicians.
  • Assist in evaluating existing processes and suggest improvement alternatives.
  • Participate in the design and development of new equipment in conjunction with Engineering.
  • Plan, coordinate, install, and perform operational checkouts for equipment and processes.
  • Perform maintenance, repair, and enhancement of mechanical, electrical, and PLC programs.
  • Research and initiate purchase requisitions for materials, spare parts, and services.
  • Train plant personnel in specific procedures, methods, and operations.
  • Ensure compliance with cGMP, cGDP, SOPs, and plant policies.
  • Serve as a technical resource for plant and corporate interactions.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring for less experienced mechanics and area engineers.

Requirements

  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • High School diploma.
  • 6-10 years of experience with industrial mechanical, electrical, or similar systems.
  • Ability to interpret engineering specifications and read engineering drawings.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted and move equipment up to 600 lbs assisted.
  • Must become a Qualified Fellow Employee (QFE).
  • Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and adjust schedules on short notice.
  • Ability to travel less than 5% of the time.
