About the Role
You will be part of a 6-person Finance Team, reporting into the Head of Finance and supported by a full-time finance assistant. This role is crucial for maintaining financial best practices and supporting the company's operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable inboxes.
- Maintain supplier and client ledgers according to best practices.
- Collaborate on 13-week cash flow forecasts and individual project cash flow forecasts.
- Raise sales invoices and perform credit control for prompt payment.
- Oversee the processing of up to 1000 purchase invoices monthly, ensuring accuracy of entity, currency, account codes, project numbers, discounts, and payment terms.
- Respond to supplier and client invoicing queries and act as a liaison between departments and suppliers.
- Ensure smooth operation and thorough checking/approval of weekly payment runs.
- Perform month-end close responsibilities, including Aged Debtor & Creditor reporting.
- Process daily bank postings.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of month-end close processes.
- Assist with audit requests by providing necessary documentation and support.
- Manage the new vendor and client creation process, including contact details, company registration, and VAT validation.
- Perform supplier and client statement reconciliations.
- Process staff expenses and per diems in adherence to company policies and UK regulations.
- Reconcile credit card and Pleo accounts.
- Take ownership of personal and professional development.
- Take on extra responsibility as required.
- Champion best practices by introducing new processes and procedures.
Requirements
- Experience in using Sage Intacct or a similar financial ERP system (e.g., Netsuite, SAP, Workday).
- Minimum of 3-4 years of relevant experience.
- Ideally, a history of working within the media or creative industries.
- Experience working for a multi-entity group with multiple revenue streams.
- Knowledge of Multi-Currency, FX, and VAT.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
- Proficient in working independently.
- Familiarity with accounting processes and protocols.
- Strong organizational skills and excellent time management abilities.
- Effective application of analytical and logical problem-solving methods.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet targets, and adhere to deadlines.
