About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Schools and Events Manager to lead the development and delivery of our national schools outreach and recruitment events program. This role is crucial for attracting the next generation of students by building meaningful relationships with schools, colleges, community organizations, and key stakeholders across the UK. You will guide the strategic direction of outreach and recruitment events, ensuring they are impactful, inclusive, data-driven, and aligned with institutional recruitment objectives. You will collaborate with the Head of Events and other teams to establish national frameworks and standards for consistent, high-quality experiences across our campuses.

Responsibilities

Lead the institution-wide schools, colleges, and community outreach strategy.
Identify and develop relationships with priority schools, colleges, music hubs, and community organizations.
Oversee the planning and delivery of outreach programs, recruitment events, UCAS fairs, and higher education exhibitions.
Develop national event frameworks, standards, toolkits, and guidance for consistent and engaging experiences.
Provide functional leadership and specialist support to campus-based Events Officers, outreach teams, and student ambassadors.
Work closely with Recruitment and Admissions teams to support pipeline development, conversion activity, and enrollment targets.
Utilize data and insight to evaluate event performance, drive continuous improvement, and inform strategic decision-making.
Ensure all outreach and events activity meets safeguarding, compliance, health, and safety requirements.
Support the delivery of key institutional events and act as a senior operational lead at flagship events when required.

Requirements

Significant experience leading schools outreach, student recruitment, community engagement, or large-scale events programs.
Proven ability to develop strategic frameworks, standards, and scalable operational models.
Strong understanding of recruitment pipelines, widening participation, and conversion activity.
Experience working successfully within complex or matrix environments.
Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
Strong analytical skills with experience using data to evaluate performance and inform strategy.
Ability to influence and lead colleagues without direct line management responsibility.
Outstanding communication and organizational skills.
Experience within higher education, further education, or a related sector (desirable).
Knowledge of Access and Participation Plans (APPs) (desirable).
Experience representing an organization at external events, fairs, and professional networks (desirable).
Experience using CRM systems such as Salesforce and event management platforms (desirable).
Successful candidates will be required to obtain a satisfactory enhanced DBS disclosure.
