About the Role

The Bridges Program Director is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, financial sustainability, and growth of local programs. This role involves supervising staff, overseeing operations, managing external relationships, ensuring program requirements are met, and identifying opportunities for expansion.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage the local operating budget.
  • Ensure consistent implementation of the Bridges program model, including documentation, data collection, reporting, and operational standards.
  • Achieve established site goals related to enrollment, placement, retention, completion, advancement, and other program outcomes.
  • Monitor program data, financial performance, and site progress to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Identify, develop, and manage local funding opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain strong community relationships and serve as the primary local spokesperson.
  • Set high standards of performance and foster an inclusive environment.
  • Establish priorities, organize work, and monitor staff performance.
  • Identify, cultivate, and manage funding opportunities, including grants, contracts, and sponsorships.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with funders, employers, schools, government agencies, and community partners.
  • Build strategic partnerships to increase funding, employment opportunities, and program growth.
  • Collaborate with the development team on funding proposals, applications, and reporting.
  • Represent the organization at funder meetings, employer meetings, and community events.
  • Monitor grant and contract requirements, budgets, deliverables, and compliance.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to manage funding successfully.
  • Recruit, train, and develop a motivated team.
  • Continuously monitor, measure, and manage performance, providing coaching and guidance.
  • Generate creative solutions to challenges and ensure goal attainment.
  • Create support mechanisms for long-term organizational stability.

Requirements

  • Five years of progressive experience in a related field (e.g., business management, social services, education, human resources).
  • At least three years of supervisory experience.
  • Proven success in supervision and leadership, particularly in training, directing, and building a team.
  • Understanding of the business community and demonstrated success in building business relationships.
  • Familiarity and ability to work effectively with the human service sector, especially in disability, school-to-work transition, and youth and job development.
  • Ability to work in the field as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license (where applicable).
  • If using own transportation, will need to pass MVR and insurance requirements.
  • Prolonged periods sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to operate general office equipment.
  • Ability to operate a vehicle or proficiency in using public transportation for commuting to various locations on a regular basis.
