About the Role
Numerator is seeking a hands-on Tech Lead Manager for its Machine Learning team. This role involves managing a team of ML engineers while also contributing technically to coding, system design, and shipping GenAI features. You will guide the team's technical direction and foster individual growth, working with a platform that handles significant data volumes and requests.
Responsibilities
- Manage and grow a small team of AI software engineers, including 1:1s, career development, performance management, hiring, and unblocking.
- Contribute to the codebase, design GenAI systems, and own delivery tasks alongside the team.
- Apply agentic LLM patterns (tool use, multi-step reasoning, orchestration) to automate complex tasks.
- Design and build GenAI-powered solutions for NLP tasks such as NER, classification, information retrieval, summarization, and structured output generation.
- Collaborate with the team's PM and adjacent engineering teams on scoping, prioritizing, and shipping features.
- Translate ambiguous business problems into well-scoped technical work and mentor engineers in doing the same.
- Stay updated on the GenAI landscape and apply new capabilities to achieve team impact.
