About the Role

Crain Communications is seeking a dynamic, experienced Graphic Designer to produce creative solutions for advertising, subscription, brand, and events marketing across its award-winning portfolio of brands. The designer will report to the Design Director and execute creative solutions across channels and platforms with an eye for refined aesthetics. This role involves delivering a wide variety of design projects from concept through completion, focusing on digital-heavy solutions across the customer journey.

Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned projects from start to final delivery.
  • Use and improve upon existing design templates.
  • Collaborate across teams (marketing, events, acquisition and retention) to elevate standards of design solutions.
  • Participate in weekly meetings to understand creative needs and prioritization.
  • Design net-new creative as well as versioning across channels and platforms.
  • Maintain consistency across each brand and deliverable.
  • Think strategically while working on design solutions.
  • Prepare design assets and files for multi-use, multi-channel, and print formats.
  • Stay up-to-date with trends across e-commerce, social media, graphic design, photography and video, and propose new ideas or share insights with the team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, art, advertising, or related field.
  • Expert in Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat, with working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working as a designer in a professional setting.
  • Online portfolio that includes recent and relevant examples of your work across multiple platforms.
  • Knowledge of HTML, email, and web design with an understanding of how to adapt creative across platforms (print, email, web, social, events).
  • Experience designing ad campaigns, banner ads, marketing landing pages, as well as email campaigns, triggers and journeys.
  • Understanding of photography, typography and printing techniques.
  • Creative thinker with an eye for detail and an aptitude for accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Proven organizational skills and ability to manage tight, concurrent deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Team player with collaborative spirit and ability to relate to a wide range of people.
  • Ability to see multiple points of view and receive and act on constructive criticism.
