About the Role
As a Senior Backend Engineer on the ZEOS B2B Platform team, you will architect and develop high-performance, scalable, API-first microservices that power partner-facing products and internal tools. You will lead development, ensure resilience and cost-efficiency, and mentor peers within a "You Write It, You Run It" culture.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and evolve high-performance Microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
- Build RESTful services that prioritize clarity and ease of use.
- Support the "You Write It, You Run It" philosophy, owning the full lifecycle of code from design to operational health.
- Leverage AWS and Kubernetes to build resilient, distributed systems.
- Set engineering standards for code quality through testing, code reviews, and modern tools.
- Collaborate with frontend teams to ensure end-to-end feature success.
- Share knowledge within the team and across the ZEOS community, guiding technical decisions.
Requirements
- Deep expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and the modern JVM ecosystem (including Gradle).
- Extensive experience in Microservice architectures, distributed systems, and designing clean, versioned REST APIs.
- Proficiency in deploying and operating applications within AWS and Kubernetes.
- High skill in building CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and observability.
- Thrive in agile environments, taking ownership of complex topics from discovery to production.
- Excellent English skills with the ability to translate technical complexity into actionable plans.
- Interest in how the frontend consumes services and willingness to contribute across the stack.
