About the Role
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will provide high-quality patient care within the scope of granted privileges, potentially across outpatient clinics, inpatient floors, perioperative services, and the emergency department. This role involves collaboration with physicians and may include participation in call rotations for after-hours surgery assistance and clinic coverage.
Responsibilities
- Provide high quality patient care within the scope of granted privileges.
- Provide care within outpatient clinics (both on-campus and outreach).
- Provide care within inpatient floors.
- Provide care within perioperative services.
- Provide care within the emergency department.
- Report to and take direction from the General Surgery Practice Supervisor/Site Leader regarding work hours, patient care assignments, and non-patient specific duties.
- Work under the direct collaboration of the physician of record for the patient when involved in patient-specific care.
- Participate in a call rotation for after-hours surgery assistance and clinic coverage.
Requirements
- Current license as a Registered Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in New York State required.
- Current or eligible for NYS DEA license.
- Experience as a General Surgery Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner preferred.
- Training/competency in attending to the special needs and/or behaviors appropriate to the age of patients for which care is being provided.
