About the Role

The Head of Domain Transformation leads the delivery of strategic transformation initiatives, ensuring programmes are governed and executed to meet business objectives. This senior-level role provides leadership for large-scale transformation, establishes strong governance, and ensures initiatives are delivered on time, within budget, and to scope and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of large and complex transformation initiatives from shaping through implementation and benefits realisation.
  • Oversee programme delivery across multiple workstreams, ensuring alignment to strategic objectives.
  • Manage interdependencies across initiatives for effective delivery and transition.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior leaders and executives.
  • Act as a trusted advisor and strategic partner.
  • Provide clear, concise, and impactful executive-level communications and reporting.
  • Ensure robust governance structures, standards, and delivery frameworks are in place.
  • Oversee planning, scheduling, forecasting, and delivery management across programmes.
  • Manage risk, assumptions, issues, and dependencies.
  • Define and manage resource demand, including internal and external resources.
  • Oversee financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Ensure strong financial governance and benefits tracking are embedded within programmes.
  • Provide leadership to cross-functional teams in a matrix environment.
  • Lead and develop teams ranging from small specialist groups to large-scale programme teams.
  • Foster a high-performance culture focused on collaboration, accountability, and delivery excellence.
  • Drive continuous improvement in transformation delivery approaches, tools, and methodologies.
  • Ensure consistent application of best practice across agile and waterfall delivery models.
  • Support the development of organisational capability in transformation delivery.

Requirements

  • Significant experience delivering large-scale strategic transformation initiatives.
  • Demonstrable experience managing complex programmes across functions and directorates.
  • Strong experience working with senior stakeholders and executive leadership teams.
  • Experience managing large teams within a matrix environment.
  • Experience delivering complex IT, digital, or business transformation programmes is highly desirable.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and influencing skills at all levels.
  • Ability to lead and motivate teams in complex and ambiguous environments.
  • Strong financial, commercial, and delivery management expertise.
  • Proven ability to manage risk, contingency planning, and complex delivery challenges.
  • Ability to challenge constructively and drive change through fact-based decision-making.
  • Strong stakeholder and relationship management capability.
