About the Role

The Senior Surveyor leads and performs field and office survey activities, ensuring accurate data collection and reporting. This role supports the development and maintenance of the Survey Control Network, mentors survey staff, and maintains high-quality standards to support successful construction and engineering projects.

Responsibilities

  • Execute assigned survey tasks in both field and office settings, ensuring all activities are carried out in accordance with project specifications, safety standards, and organizational procedures.
  • Prepare, organize, and validate all fieldwork data before and after execution, including equipment setup, data calibration, upload, processing, and documentation.
  • Conduct thorough quality control reviews of all collected survey data, verifying accuracy, consistency, and alignment with project requirements and site conditions.
  • Develop clear, comprehensive, and well-structured survey reports to support the production of as-built drawings, engineering deliverables, and project documentation.
  • Identify, recommend, and assist in implementing improvements to survey methods, workflows, and tools to enhance operational efficiency and data accuracy.
  • Provide ongoing support, mentorship, and guidance to surveyors and survey assistants.
  • Properly manage, care for, and safeguard all company equipment and materials assigned.
  • Assist in establishing, maintaining, and monitoring the Survey Control Network, including carrying out measurements, installing benchmarks, and verifying control points.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in land surveying.
  • Experience in supervising, coordinating, and leading survey teams is considered a significant asset.
  • In-depth understanding of civil construction practices, engineering methods, and project workflows.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Working knowledge of design and drafting software such as Autodesk Civil 3D.
  • Familiarity with Point Cloud processing software.
  • Highly skilled in the operation of a wide range of modern survey instruments, including laser scanners, robotic total stations, GNSS receivers, and digital levels.
  • Holding a recognized professional designation such as Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) is preferred.
