About the Role
The Prep Cook is responsible for preparing a variety of cold food items and ingredients for restaurant kitchens, reporting directly to the Sous Chef Manager.
Responsibilities
- Wash, peel, slice, and mix vegetables, fruits, meats, cheeses, and other ingredients for various dishes
- Follow recipes and comply with portion sizes, quality standards, and department procedures
- Adhere to Department of Health regulations
- Clean utensils, preparation equipment, and counters
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements
- 1+ year of kitchen experience
- Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to exert well-paced mobility
- Ability to stand or walk for up to 8 hours in a kitchen environment
- Ability to operate commercial equipment including stand mixers, ovens, and torches
Skills
- Basic math skills
- Good knife skills
- Finger dexterity for using small tools and utensils
