About the Role

Deliver evidence-based mental health services to older adults in the Bronx at JASA’s Geriatric Mental Health Clinic, an Article 31 outpatient clinic. Conduct assessments, manage treatment plans, and provide direct therapy in-person, remotely, or via satellite center outreach.

Responsibilities

  • Provide evidence-based individual, family, and group mental health interventions both in-person and via telehealth; conduct home visits when medically necessary.
  • Administer standardized mental health screening tools; develop, implement, monitor, and document comprehensive treatment plans.
  • Provide relevant information, community referrals, and resources to clients and collaterals.
  • Complete case records, progress notes, and reports within mandated timeframes using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team conferences, clinical supervision, staff meetings, and quality improvement activities.
  • Utilize outreach strategies in Bronx older adult centers to engage participants and provide case consultations/psychoeducation to senior center staff.
  • Conduct clinical interventions, intakes, and treatment plans in Spanish for monolingual clients.
  • Participate on a rotating basis in carrying a company cell phone for evening, weekend, or holiday crisis coverage.

Requirements

  • Possession of or candidacy for NYS Licensure in Social Work or Clinical Psychology (LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, LCAT, LMFT, or similar).
  • Minimum of 3 years working in a mental health setting or with an older adult population.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is strongly preferred to serve monolingual clients.
  • Basic computer proficiency with familiarity in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, Microsoft Excel, and Google Workspace.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a host or clinic setting.
  • Professional maturity and an appreciation for the roles of race, religion, ethnicity, and sexual orientation in client care.
