About the Role

The Sterilization Technician is responsible for ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety guidelines by cleaning and sterilizing all appliances and equipment used in patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Sets up and prepares dental equipment and instrumentation, including decontaminating, inspecting, assembling, wrapping, and packaging instruments for sterilization.
  • Stocks supplies and replenishes the sterilization area.
  • Operates and maintains sterilization equipment.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  • Performs all testing based on OSHA standards.
  • Maintains the sterilization room in superior condition, meeting OSHA standards with 100% accuracy.
  • Maintains accurate OSHA records for all testing and maintenance performed.
  • Collects and prepares hazardous waste for disposal.
  • Helps set up the treatment area.
  • Performs duties within OSHA, HIPAA, healthcare, and orthodontic regulations.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Must have a High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Requires 1-3 years of relative experience.
