About the Role
As an Engagement Manager in Sydney, you will own client relationships and delivery outcomes for enterprise software engagements in the APAC region. This senior, client-facing role requires you to be the primary point of contact, managing relationships, commercial success, and delivery quality from initiation to transition.
Responsibilities
- Own the client relationship across a portfolio of engagements or a single large key engagement as the trusted, named senior point of contact for client sponsors and executives throughout the engagement lifecycle.
- Take accountability for engagement outcomes end-to-end: delivery quality, client satisfaction, and commercial performance across your assigned portfolio.
- Act as the commercial face of delivery by chairing steering committees, leading scope and change negotiations, managing escalations to resolution, and surfacing expansion and renewal signals to Account Management and Customer Success.
- Guide, coach and potentially line-manage Project Managers on your engagements by setting delivery standards, developing their craft, and building a high-performing delivery bench in the region.
- Perform the Project Manager role directly when engagements require it. Own plans, dependencies, financial tracking and client status cadence hands-on where a PM is not assigned or available.
- Partner closely with Services SME’s and consulting leads to keep the solution, the plan and the commercials aligned, and to catch design or delivery risk early.
- Own resource forecasting and utilisation across your engagements, working with Services Operations to keep capacity, margin and delivery commitments in balance.
- Uphold and promote Aptitude's delivery methodology and governance standards, contributing lessons learned and reusable practices back into the region.
Requirements
- Proven experience owning end-to-end delivery of enterprise software implementations in a B2B SaaS environment.
- A track record as the relationship owner on complex engagements.
- A trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders, including C-level executives, with the gravitas to chair a steering committee and the judgement to know when to escalate.
- Strong commercial acumen: engagement-level P&L ownership, forecasting, scope and change control, and client negotiation.
- Genuine hands-on project management craft - you can (and will) run a project directly when needed, and you enjoy staying close to the work.
- Experience guiding or managing Project Managers, with a coaching mindset and a record of raising the standard of delivery around you.
- A clear, confident communicator who builds alignment across client, partner and internal teams, and keeps momentum through complexity.
- Comfortable working in a hybrid model, with regional travel and on-site client work as delivery needs require.
