About the Role

Support and improve manufacturing operations by becoming a technical expert on critical production equipment across all plants. Troubleshoot and repair equipment, and participate in Preventative Maintenance in a fast-paced, high-impact manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and troubleshoot process equipment problems to minimize downtime and recommend solutions.
  • Assemble and repair existing equipment to ensure efficient operation.
  • Assist with training shift mechanics and provide technical insights and knowledge transfer.
  • Document Assembly and Design reviews of installations on applicable manufacturing test equipment.
  • Read schematics/assembly drawings, layouts, data and process sheets to perform testing, build fixtures, analyze and troubleshoot equipment.
  • Install and validate equipment and processes in the production area to improve yield and/or reduce cycle time following the established validation procedure.
  • Be available to work shiftwork and support Preventative Maintenance on weekends.
  • Travel between production facilities to assist critical repairs.
  • Promote and support Continuous Improvement activities in Manufacturing.
  • Simulate and troubleshoot high-speed robotic packaging equipment.
  • Contribute to and foster Health & Safety/GMPs.
  • Monitor existing processes and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Be involved in new processes.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in mechanical engineering/electro-mechanical maintenance/installation.
  • Ideally have food or pharmaceutical experience.
  • Experience building/installing conveyors/prototype equipment.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be comfortable traveling between site and off-site locations.
  • Ability to read mechanical schematics and prints.
  • Basic understanding of PLCs/logic controls and panel view navigation (HMI).
  • Experience with maintenance systems and computer programs (MS Office; Excel; Outlook).
  • Experience with hand tools and welding.
  • Passionate about mechanical repair.
  • Flexible to work extended or after hours when required.
