About the Role
Support and improve manufacturing operations by becoming a technical expert on critical production equipment across all plants. Troubleshoot and repair equipment, and participate in Preventative Maintenance in a fast-paced, high-impact manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Identify and troubleshoot process equipment problems to minimize downtime and recommend solutions.
- Assemble and repair existing equipment to ensure efficient operation.
- Assist with training shift mechanics and provide technical insights and knowledge transfer.
- Document Assembly and Design reviews of installations on applicable manufacturing test equipment.
- Read schematics/assembly drawings, layouts, data and process sheets to perform testing, build fixtures, analyze and troubleshoot equipment.
- Install and validate equipment and processes in the production area to improve yield and/or reduce cycle time following the established validation procedure.
- Be available to work shiftwork and support Preventative Maintenance on weekends.
- Travel between production facilities to assist critical repairs.
- Promote and support Continuous Improvement activities in Manufacturing.
- Simulate and troubleshoot high-speed robotic packaging equipment.
- Contribute to and foster Health & Safety/GMPs.
- Monitor existing processes and make recommendations for improvement.
- Be involved in new processes.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in mechanical engineering/electro-mechanical maintenance/installation.
- Ideally have food or pharmaceutical experience.
- Experience building/installing conveyors/prototype equipment.
- Must have a valid driver's license and be comfortable traveling between site and off-site locations.
- Ability to read mechanical schematics and prints.
- Basic understanding of PLCs/logic controls and panel view navigation (HMI).
- Experience with maintenance systems and computer programs (MS Office; Excel; Outlook).
- Experience with hand tools and welding.
- Passionate about mechanical repair.
- Flexible to work extended or after hours when required.
