About the Role
The Chestnut Residence and Conference Centre is seeking an individual to clean and supply assigned rooms, report damage and deficiencies, and ensure student/guest satisfaction in accordance with housekeeping procedures and safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Deep clean bathrooms including shower, tub, vanity, sink, mirror, and hair dryer.
- Clean walls, remove marks, and spot clean spills and stains on furniture and fixtures.
- Clean and dust furniture, including sofas, chairs, and cushions.
- Collect and dispose of waste.
- Clean lamps, telephones, windows, baseboards, ledges, and light switches.
- Dust pictures, mirrors, and frames.
- Align drapes as needed.
- Clean under beds.
- Report damaged areas to the Rooms Manager.
- Respond to requests from the housekeeping office.
- Inspect carpets, upholstery, and vinyl to determine cleaning needs.
- Vacuum carpets to remove dirt and debris.
- Apply cleaning solutions to carpets using appropriate equipment.
- Use specialized tools to remove stubborn stains and dirt.
- Rinse carpets thoroughly to remove cleaning solutions and residue.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (oral and written).
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision within a diverse community.
- Professional attitude and motivation.
- Great attention to detail.
- Must be able to lift, bend, and stand for long periods.
- Must be able to push and lift up to 50lbs.
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment.

Experience Level
- Minimum of one (1) year experience cleaning in a large institutional or commercial establishment is an asset.

- $25.96 per hour
