About the Role
The Special Projects Officer, Researcher Services Strategist (SPO-RSS) manages the operational execution of strategic priorities for the Research Services Office, specifically focusing on prestigious research recruitment programs. The role provides high-level confidential support and project management to senior administrators to facilitate the success of individuals in research chair positions.
Responsibilities
- Execute strategic priorities and objectives for the Research Services Office.
- Provide confidential support and creative project management for prestigious research chair recruitment.
- Collaborate with the Director, Institutional Initiatives, Assistant Vice-President, and other senior administrators.
- Coordinate the development of large, complex research funding proposals.
- Engage senior university officers, faculty, and external stakeholders to facilitate consensus.
- Manage complex report writing at a senior level.
Requirements
- Post-graduate degree (Master’s or PhD) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum six years of relevant experience in university research administration.
- Knowledge of university policies, procedures, and organizational structure.
- Understanding of media, protocol, and diplomacy.
- Experience in a research-intensive university environment.
- Knowledge of best practices for promoting EDI and anti-racism in academic research.
- Proven experience as a project leader within a complex organization.
- Evidence of direct or indirect people leadership.
- Ability to establish credibility with senior administrators.
