About the Role

Provides support for ABS structuring in the U.S., ensuring alignment with strategy and objectives, and that initiatives are executed in compliance with regulations and policies. Fosters collaboration with global structuring teams.

Responsibilities

  • Drives a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Understands the risk profile of transactions and implements processes to manage those risks.
  • Fosters new and existing client relationships and cross-sells existing relationships across other areas and product groups.
  • Directs day-to-day activities consistent with the Bank’s risk culture and relevant risk appetite statement and limits.
  • Communicates the Bank’s risk culture and risk appetite statement throughout their teams.
  • Creates an environment for effective and efficient operations in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, Code of Conduct, and Global Sales Principles.
  • Ensures adequacy, adherence to, and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls for operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk.
  • Builds a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops, and motivates the team.
  • Supports origination and is responsible for the structuring of Conduit and Term ABS transactions.
  • Executes transactions including warehouse financing and capital markets deal processing.
  • Performs financial modeling, structural and collateral diligence and analysis.
  • Conducts credit analysis and interacts with internal credit departments, capital markets syndicate teams, clients, attorneys, rating agencies, and other parties.
  • Reviews and negotiates transaction legal documents.
  • Develops marketing materials and presentations for clients.
  • Develops ABS offering materials including stratifications and arranges for third-party service providers.
  • Builds cash flow models for transaction analysis.
  • Prepares written credit summaries and presents to the credit committee.
  • Performs due diligence of existing and potential clients, including reviews of operations, strategy, and asset and financial performance.
  • Manages annual credit reviews of facility warehouses.
  • Works on special projects as directed.

Requirements

  • Deep ABS product and modelling knowledge and experience.
  • Technical proficiency with MS Excel modeling, PowerPoint, Intex, and Bloomberg.
  • 2+ years structuring experience.
  • Ability to multi-task, manage priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and within a small team environment.
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • FINRA – SIE, Series 79 and 63.
