About the Role

We are currently looking for a dedicated, driven, enthusiastic individual eager to thrive in a constantly changing environment, seeking an opportunity to gain diverse experiences and grow within a rapidly expanding team.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test software.
  • Prepare technical specifications based on requirements.
  • Maintain the operation of enterprise applications and systems.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve application incidents.
  • Participate in planning activities.
  • Evaluate and track the progress of assigned work.
  • Create and update relevant documentation.
  • Apply current practices, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Stay current with relevant technologies.
  • Perform any other assigned tasks.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree in software development or equivalent experience.
  • Two years of hands-on experience in application development and software design using current programming languages and techniques.
  • Experience working with relational database systems and SQL-like languages.
  • Attention to detail and analytical and problem-solving skills to detect and understand issues and take appropriate action to resolve them.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to express oneself clearly and concisely in a style appropriate to the audience and message.
  • Knowledge of artificial intelligence, machine learning concepts, and AI-assisted software development practices.
  • Proven ability to work as part of a team by making quality contributions and supporting other team members.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to self-manage a variable workload in diverse situations and with changing priorities.
  • Willingness to learn while staying current with advancements in the field and the ability to apply learned material to new situations.
  • Experience using software development tools such as JIRA and Confluence, as well as Source Code Management and TeamCity, is an asset.
  • Experience with Unix, Windows, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and Java is an asset.
  • Certifications in relevant technologies is an asset.
  • Knowledge and experience in the insurance industry is an asset.
